Professional Bio

She is a Professor of Ecotoxicology and Hydrobiology, and highly experienced Environmentalist Scientist with over twenty-five years of teaching and advancing the development of practical solutions in mitigating environmental impacts of pollution and climate change, in the coastal regions of Nigeria and Ghana. She is passionate about building capacity and advocacy in the oil-impacted communities in the Niger Delta, working with government, NGOs, schools, and local stakeholders. She co-founded ‘Hope in the Jungle Initiative’ where has carried out several projects in troubled communities. She is a lead expert in numerous ecological studies and impact assessment, delivering impactful solution driven projects that have yielded two patents. She is a Techwomen (2017), Commonwealth and Fisheries Society of Nigeria fellows. Former President, Association for Environmental Impact Assessment of Nigeria (AEIAN) (2022 – 2024), Vice President, United State Government Exchange Alumni Rivers State (2020-2025) and Co-chair, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Sector, IAIA
