The ATBU-SPESSCE, Bauchi, Nigeria is one of six such Centres of excellence established through World Bank financing in the areas of Procurement, Environmental and Social standards. The Centre was established through a competitive process among select universities across Nigeria. The Centre is established to bridge the manpower needs in the three areas of Procurement, Environment and Social standards. ATBU-SPESSCE aims at providing cutting-edge, world class training in sustainable procurement, environmental and social standards at various levels of competences (short courses, certification, postgraduate diploma, bachelor’s and master’s degree). The project commenced in March 2021 with training in short courses (Track A) and advanced certificates (Track B). A significant number of candidates have completed the Tracks A and B courses. The Centre also provide training at the undergraduate (Track E) and postgraduate levels. The postgraduate programmes include postgraduate diploma (Track C), master’s (Track D) and Ph.D. degrees.
