Course Details
This short, self-paced course is tailored for high-level decision makers guiding major policies, plans, or programs who want to understand how using SEA can improve outcomes and ensure more sustainable, transparent decisions.
As a decision maker, the preparation of effective policies, plans, and programs (PPP) requires that they be sustainable; incorporating important environmental and socio-economic considerations and ensuring that their associated risks and impacts are effectively managed. SEA allows you to do this in a systematic way while fostering stakeholder engagement and transparency throughout the process. By doing this, SEA allows for more informed decisions leading to long-lasting outcomes. While the focus on SEA in this course is towards the energy transition, the same approach could be applied to PPPs for other sectors (e.g., tourism, transport, etc.).
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Recognize the benefit of SEA.
- Identify how SEA differs from EIA.
- Promote the use of SEA to evaluate the potential environmental and socio-economic risks and impacts to align with sustainability goals.
You will receive a certificate of completion upon successful completion of the course.
Due to the nature of on-demand courses, this purchase is non-refundable and non-transferable.
