Course Details

This short (30 minute), self-paced course explores the key technologies, environmental and socio-economic issues, risks, and impacts associated with geothermal power development. You will learn how SEA can support responsible geothermal development by addressing risks early, ensuring stronger governance, and reducing costly delays at the project stage.

This course is designed for those who have completed the Foundations of SEA course, or who have some knowledge of the basic principles, stages, and modalities of SEA.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Identify key environmental and socio-economic issues usually associated with geothermal power development.
  • Identify changes or additions that may be required to policies, plans, and programs (PPPs) governing geothermal power development.
  • Make subsequent project-level EIAs more efficient and cheaper by addressing potential cumulative impacts.
  • Engage stakeholders early in the SEA process to build understanding and avoid future conflicts.

You will receive a certificate of completion upon successful completion of the course.

Due to the nature of on-demand courses, this purchase is non-refundable and non-transferable.
