Course Details

This short, self-paced course explores the key technologies and environmental and socio-economic issues, risks, potential impacts, and benefits associated with implementing policies, plans, and programs (PPPs) for the solar power subsector. You will learn how to prioritize issues and frame the analysis needed for an effective SEA.

This course is designed for those who have completed the Foundations of SEA course, or who have some knowledge of the basic principles, stages, and modalities of SEA. 

By the end of the course, you will be able to: 

• Understand the key technologies employed in solar power generation
• Identify the main environmental and socio-economic risks and potential impacts related to solar energy development
• Recognize how SEA can address these challenges to support informed decision-making

• Apply SEA to promote sustainable solar energy generation
